Silk pajamas
Most silk pajamas are woven with no stretch, so fit and seams matter most.

Make them last
Size for movement
Choose a relaxed fit, since woven silk has no give. Tight seats and shoulders pull the threads apart at the seams.
Rinse off the sweat
Sweat and deodorant yellow and weaken silk. Wash cold with silk-safe detergent after a few wears. Skip bleach and softener.
Keep from sun and moths
Dry in shade and never in a dryer. Store folded in a cotton bag, because moths eat silk too.

Silk survives sleep. Sun and sweat are what hurt it.

Good to know
Are silk pajamas hot or cold?
They feel cool at first, then warm to your body. Silk is breathable and takes up some moisture, so many people wear it year round.
Can you machine wash silk pajamas?
Sometimes, if the label allows it. Use cold water, the delicate cycle, a mesh bag and silk-safe detergent. Hand washing is gentler, and the dryer is out.
Do silk pajamas shrink?
They can, a little, especially in warm water or a dryer. Wash cold, air dry and buy a relaxed fit to leave some room.
