Looking and Being Seen
guān · Wind over EarthBe worth watching before you try to teach anything.
Picture the moment a priest has washed his hands, before the offering is made. Everyone is silent and still. Hold that sincerity, without display, and people look up to it.
The six lines
You see things as a child does. That is fine for someone with no duties, but if you lead others, it falls short.
You peer through the crack of a door. That narrow view may serve someone who stays within the home, but it does not see far.
Look at your own life and its results, then decide whether to step forward or draw back.
You look on the brightness of the realm. This is a good time to go as a guest to a ruler and offer what you have.
Examine your own life, since others are watching it. If you live as a person of character, there is no fault.
You stand apart, yet people still watch how you live. Keep to a noble character and there is no fault.
